Oi beardy

I’ve grown a beard.

This wasn’t on purpose but it wasn’t exactly accidental either.  I didn’t just wake up what morning to be greeted by the site of a beard in the mirror nor was it an attempt to save money in the uncertain economic times but cutting down on razor blade usage.

I thought I was going to be away from home for a week or so and wasn’t fussed that I would be ‘heavily stubbled’ by the time I got home.  But I ended up being away for over a month and I passed that imaginary line in the sand from stubble to beard.

I should really have a picture of myself to illustrate my new found facial hair but that would be the first time I showed my face on my own blog an force me to lose my anonymity.  A choice I made when I started up the blog, I guess from a type of paranoia and lack of blogging experience.

Now I don’t really care if my face adorns the blog, but it would be wrong to I guess almost lie by using a picture that looks nothing like my everyday appearance as the only picture of me wouldn’t it?

I kind of enjoy my stubbled state when I get there. Most of the time I shave it off eventually, but once in a while I try to fool myself into thinking that I can grow something substantial. HAH. The results usually aren’t bad, but I’m certainly not a hairy mofo. Eventually my patience wears thin and despite my will to try to make it grow for a longer period of time it all usually comes off in a moment of weakness.

I had such a day yesterday. I feel like I look strange now. Whatever.

I don’t think I woudl have ended up like this if I had thought about it, but now I kind of like it. Its on borrowed time though, it wont still be around come the New Year
