Fantastic 5 Friday

In a some what stolen idea I bring you ‘Fantastic 5 Friday’.

I was unsure whether to give a list of 5 fantastic nostalgic movies, reasons to be politically active, places of jaw dropping beauty but instead I give you…..

5 Fantastic desserts.  This is mainly because its lunch time and I’m hungry

  1. Sticky toffee pudding.  For those that have tried this dessert they know of its decedent awesomeness, best served with vanilla ice cream or fresh whipped cream (NOT canned)
  2. Apple crumble.  Is there any dessert that does ‘comfort food so well?
  3. Christmas pudding.  Not everyone’s idea of a great dessert but it it gets rolled out from kitchens once a year and despite everyone being stuffed beyond belief there stills seems to be room for this bad boy.  How many other desserts is it deemed acceptable to set on fire at the dinner table?
  4. Summer pudding.  Helping you hit your 5 a day with ease, chow down.
  5. Chocolate fudge cake.  It wouldn’t be a dessert list with out at least a little chocolate.

The runners up are Cherry pie as I have always loved it and lemon sorbet, a somewhat ‘cheat’ dessert but after a spicy meal it works well as a palate cleanser.

Any I should change?

Choc fudge

    As a lover of chocolate, the chocolate fudge cake gets a thumbs up. I would probably throw tiramisu in there as well. I also like a nice cheese cake.. mmm.

    I didnt even think about cheesecakes, a good chesecake is fantastic too. If you ever feel like putting on some chef whites and making one I can fully reccomend this raspberry and chocolate one from the BBC’s good food;

    Well worth the effort I’ve made it a few times (and it isnt that much effort tbh)

    Creme Brulee – I don’t think you can beat it when it’s done right!
